What is Deathsave Pinball Cult?

Like most cults, Deathsave has three components: PeopleRitual, and Ideology.

DSPC is a group of people who are obsessed with the game of pinball. We cannot help ourselves. If that sounds like you, consider yourself an honorary member, and come say hi.

The rituals of DSPC are (obviously) centered on pinball machines. The honor of putting your initials in for grand champion, struggling in a tournament, comradeship of league are all familiar to our members; but we also hold rituals on the other side of the glass. Our devotion tends to mean our members have strong opinions on the performance of machines. All machines should play as good as, or better, than the day they left the factory. If they fail to do so, our attitude is always: “well let’s make that work right then!” The games in our collection are put through constant cycles of torturous improvement. Our cult has brought “ancient” machines back from the dead to attract the heathens away from their consoles and computers; we shall build an army of machines old and new to further these efforts and broaden the tome of our sacred rites.

DSPC are believers in Pinball’s unique appeal and pleasure, and devoted to spreading that joy to the masses. Our ideology is as simple as that.

We do not seek to control pinball, we seek to make pinball completely out of control. For too long have these machines been used by the bourgeoisie as devices against the poor and impulsive, turning their pursuit of pleasure in a senseless, cold world into a stream of capital used only to further impoverish us. It is time for a collective of players to rise up and organize as independent owner operators. DSPC does not seek to lead or control this movement, but we aspire to light the match that starts the fire, and we are fuel that wishes to burn.
